Dolceacqua is famous for its picturesque 15th-century humpback stone bridge, its ruined medieval hilltop castle, and for inspiring the French impressionist painter Claude Monet.



Ponte Vecchio: A 33-meter Romanesque stone bridge crossing the Nervia River. Claude Monet visited in 1884 and famously called it a "jewel of lightness" (bijou de légèreté) before painting it.

Doria Castle: A majestic fortress towering over the old "Terra" district. The Doria family ruled the area starting in the 13th century.

Rossese di Dolceacqua Wine: A local ruby-red DOC wine made from unique grapes grown in the surrounding hills.

Medieval Alleys (Carugi): A labyrinth of cool, narrow stone passageways, staircases, and artisan shops tucked beneath the hills of Liguria.
